Top 10 percent guaranteed admission to VCU College of Engineering

VCU College of Engineering guarantees admission for all graduating high school seniors who rank in the top 10 percent of their classes who apply as first-time degree-seeking freshmen to VCU. Students must be admissible to the university and certain conditions apply, please see below for details.

Students wishing to study engineering or computer science at VCU will be automatically admitted, as long as their transcript or other official documentation shows a class rank in the top 10 percent. This opportunity applies to in-state, out-of-state, and international students.

Exceptions and Conditions:

1. Only first-time degree-seeking freshmen are eligible; applicants who have been in a degree seeking program at any college or university for one or more semesters must apply as transfer students.
2. Homeschooled applicants are not eligible under the top 10 percent rule.
3. University Admission policies regarding applicants with disciplinary, academic, or legal issues take precedence over the top 10% rule. Applicants in the top 10% may be deemed ineligible for admission if they have significant issues in one or more of these areas.
