Engineering Research Building update

Four years ago, it was an unused patch of ground that was prone to flooding. Today, the northeast corner of Belvidere and Cary streets is VCU’s Engineering Research Building. The scaffolding is gone and the new jewel of the Monroe Park campus is almost ready for its close-up.

The glass-and-brick collaborative research hub — envisioned by college leaders and designed by Richmond-based architecture firm Baskervill and Boston-based firm Goody Clancy — will see its rooms and labs filled this year and be ready to greet students in the new semester.
