Pamela Faggert, former chief environmental officer and senior vice president of sustainability at Dominion Energy, addressed a gathering of more than 100 at the 2019 VCU College of Engineering’s Women in Engineering Luncheon held Friday, Feb. 22, 2019 in Engineering East Hall.

Faggert offered advice and insights gained over her career in industry and government about the importance of teamwork and being a strong communicator. She also said, “Don’t be afraid of competition. If you expect to be promoted, what are you going to do to distinguish yourself?”

The event also featured remarks by Barbara D. Boyan, Ph.D., Alice T. and William H. Goodwin Jr. Dean of the VCU College of Engineering; Mary Gordon, M.B.A., vice president for Altria Client Services, and Rachel Judge, a senior in the Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering.

The 2019 Women in Engineering Luncheon was hosted by the Altria family of companies, VCU College of Engineering Foundation and VCU College of Engineering Career Services.
