Gabrielle Gurdin, a rising sophomore in the Department of Computer Science, has been selected to present at the 2019 Grace Hopper Celebration.
The event, the world’s largest gathering of women in computing, will be held Oct. 1-4, 2019, in Orlando, Florida. More than 20,000 participants from 78 countries attended the 2018 gathering. It is presented by AnitaB.org and the Association of Computing Machinery.
Gurdin’s faculty adviser is Bridget McInnes, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science.
Gurdin said, “I am very excited to be presenting at the 2019 Grace Hopper Celebration! It will be an amazing opportunity to meet other women in computing and to talk about my research. I would like to thank Dr. McInnes for welcoming me into her lab and encouraging me to submit a proposal in the first place.”
