The VCU College of Engineering hosted an in-person graduation celebration for students on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the Altria Theater.
Graduating students, who will be required to wear a cap and gown, will walk across the stage. Professional photography services will be available.

VCU Engineering’s graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 6 p.m.
VCU Engineering’s graduation ceremony will be held at the Altria Theater, across the street from Monroe Park.
Students should arrive, with their cap and gown for lineup between 4:45 p.m and 5 p.m. for the lineup. The lineup will be held in the basement of the Altria Theater. Enter the Theater doors on Main Street. There will be a guard at the door.
Doors will open for guest seating at 5 p.m. Only ticketed guests will be admitted.
VCU’s West Main Street parking deck and street parking are available.
Yes, a cap and gown are required to gain access to the procession area.
Hooding a doctoral student as recognition of completing their Ph.D. is a long-held and special tradition, usually performed by that student’s faculty adviser.
Yes, the current plan is for each graduate to walk across the stage.
Yes, a professional photographer will be available.
College of Engineering photo backdrops will be set up in the West Hall lobby for graduate photos after the ceremony.
Yes, the ceremony will be livestreamed in its entirety.
