Graduating students, who will be required to wear a cap and gown, will walk across the stage. Professional photography services will be available.

VCU’s West Main Street parking deck and street parking are available.

Do graduates need to wear a cap and gown?
Yes, a cap and gown are required to gain access to the procession area.

How will Ph.D. students be hooded?
Hooding a doctoral student as recognition of completing their Ph.D. is a long-held and special tradition, usually performed by that student’s faculty adviser.

Will I walk across the stage?
Yes, the current plan is for each graduate to walk across the stage.

Will a photographer be available?
Yes, a professional photographer will be available.

Where can I take pictures with my family?
College of Engineering photo backdrops will be set up in the West Hall lobby for graduate photos after the ceremony.

Will the service be livestreamed?
Yes, the ceremony will be livestreamed in its entirety.

When will seating begin?
Information about seating will be made available as the date approaches.

Will food or beverages be available?
No, food and beverages will not be provided or allowed in the Altria Theater.

When will I receive my official diploma?
Graduates should receive their diploma approximately one month after degrees are conferred.
