VCU Engineering faculty among world’s most-cited researchers in 2022, according to Stanford University study

Top 2 percent most cited researchers in 2022

A study from Elsevier BV, based at Stanford University, finds that 17 VCU College of Engineering professors are in the world’s top 2% of most-cited researchers in 2022.

Citation metrics —  how often a scholar’s published work is cited by other researchers — are widely acknowledged as important measures of research impact.

All five of VCU Engineering’s departments are represented on Stanford’s list of highest-impact researchers within their respective fields for 2022.

“Every student benefits when they learn from faculty who are leaders in their respective fields,” said Gary Tepper, Ph.D., interim dean of VCU Engineering. “That’s what uncommon engineering represents; the combination of excellence, diversity, research and creativity that make our faculty truly exceptional and driven to prepare the next generation of engineers.”
