Aaron Lam and Nicholus Radcliffe, both seniors in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, have received scholarships through the U.S. Department of Energy's Nuclear Energy University Program. This competitive scholarship was awarded to only 58 recipients from universities across the country. Lam and Radcliffe will use their $7500 awards to study a range of critical nuclear energy issues, including the nuclear fuel cycle and reactor efficiency and design. They said they are interested in nuclear energy because of the greater efficiency and relative safety that it holds over other forms of energy production.
