Hooman Tafreshi, Ph.D., Qimonda Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

Hooman Tafreshi, Ph.D., Qimonda Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at the VCU College of Engineering, has been named to the editorial board of the journal Separation and Purification Technology.

Tafreshi is widely recognized for his computational and experimental research on multiphase flows and interfacial phenomena at the interface of fluid mechanics and materials science. He is especially known in the filtration/separation community for his computational-experimental studies on droplet and particle transport through fibrous materials. Tafreshi’s research has been published in more than 130 peer-reviewed journals.

Separation and Purification Technology is dedicated to the dissemination of novel methods for separation and purification in chemical and environmental engineering. Of particular interest is research focusing on separation problems in emerging fields such as biotechnology, biobased feedstocks/products, green technology, energy storage and conversion, and resource recovery and recycling.
